Canoe and Kayak “Buyer’s Guide” December 2009 This 5 page feature covers the expedition we did to the Butze Tidal Rapids in the Spring of 2009. The trip rode the edge of misadventure, as we made a huge mistake with tides early in the trip and had our entire camp flooded in the middle of the night. Paddle World Summer 2008 Pacific Horizons produced a stunning array of sea kayaking images in 2007 and the international publication Paddle World was quick to snatch up the destination story on the Salish Sea. Written by Bryan Smith and put together with photos by Steve Rogers and Phil Tifo, this article exemplifies Reel Water’s ability to write destination pieces that promote geographic regions and sustainable eco-tourism. This article features inviting descriptions of the areas outside of Vancouver, BC and all the resources needed to encourage people of all ages and abilities to visit and paddle in the British Columbia’s lower mainland. |

Rapid Magazine Summer 2008 After coming home from the Vacation to Hell in Peru in August 2007, Todd Gillman and Bryan Smith were asked to write an article on the trip for Rapid Magazine. With stunning images from the trip in Peru and a story that ended with an epic hike out of the Amazon, this piece is an example of Reel Water’s teamwork and dedication to completing projects from start to finish. From athletes to authors, Todd and Bryan showcase their unique ability to perform as world class athletes and also produce top notch media in this piece. |

Mountain Equipment Co-Op Catalogs 2008 Bryan Smith was featured in both the French and English MEC catalogs for 2008. Sea kayaking photograph’s by Gary Luhm were used as both the cover shot and title page. Additionally a whitewater shot of Todd Gillman’s of Bryan on the Ashlu River was featured in the English version. MEC is also using these shots as life size posters in the rental department of all their stores for 2008. |
