Lise-Anne Beyries grew up in Montréal, Quebec. She got into kayaking in the late 80’s and started raft guiding when her girlfriends in the city didn’t exactly hang out in the outdoors. With a strong background in gymnastics, Lise-Anne’s has always excelled as an athlete. After a Political Sciences BA at Concordia University and uncertainty on how to put all her interests together, she followed her heart to the big mountains of Whistler, British Columbia. She started ski patrolling on Whistler Mountain in 1992 and working as a raft guide on the Green, Cheakamus, and Elaho. She is now a full time therapist at the Spa at the Four Seasons in Whistler and volunteers on the Blackcomb Ski Patrol. A perfect fit since it’s flexible enough for her to spend a bunch of time working on all her different interests including sea kayaking films! She also teaches first aid, music to young children and shiatsu therapy. Lise-Anne’s greatest goal is to inspire others have the courage to try new things and trust their own strength, find ways to blend excitement and grace and to get everyone closer to their environments. She loves kayaking for all these reasons, and also for the places it takes her and the amazement it brings to her. The assistant producer and director, the creative director, the official critic in all things, the logistics coordinator… Lise-Anne is the other leg in Reel Water.
