Shane Robinson

Cinematographer/Athlete/Attorney

Shane Robinson has finally found himself a home in the world of paddle sports as a cameraman, activist and Seattle-based explorer. Shane is a fifth generation Eastern Colorado native whose migratory compass has been set on the Northwest ever since leaving the roost. A momentary settling just slightly west in the Colorado Rockies was Shane’s first exposure to mountain lifestyle, and he would never be the same after working as a raft guide on the Arkansas River. This would also provide the start of his kayaking and video habit, filming the thousands of rafters every summer as a video kayaker. A kayaking journey to Ecuador would forever alter Shane’s path again heading further west upon returning stateside to the Sierras with a new eye for the world in which we live. Further travels and another move north to the Cascades would find Shane studying Environmental Law and working as a student fellow with the Center for Corporations, Law, and Society at Seattle University School of Law. When not in the library, he would most likely be found in the snow and the rivers of the Washington and British Columbia mountains often capturing adventures on video. Shane’s video work can be seen in Reel Water Production’s films, episodes of Lunch Video Magazine, and on his blog: theRangeLife.com. Shane has recently graduated from law school and returned from a kayaking expedition in Peru, and is looking forward to another major transition in his life. Stay tuned to see what comes next.
